Hello, fellow creators!

Today I have some exciting news to share with you. 3Pad recently underwent some significant changes that increased decentralization and enabled our users to host their websites on IPFS. Let me explain trustless hosting on IPFS, yes you read that correctly!

Let’s start by getting specific about how this works. Sites now get pushed to GitHub when a user publishes their website on our platform. From there, it is deployed to the Fleek network, where it is constructed and uploaded to IPFS & ICP (Internet Computer). We obtain the content hash & set it on the user’s launchpad page after the upload is finished. Since the content hash can be saved and used indefinitely, users have total control over the hosting of their website.

Now, you might be wondering why this is such a big deal, so let me explain. Users are no longer required to rely on us to host their websites thanks to the decentralization of our platform. In the past, users had to rely on us to maintain the availability of their websites. Nevertheless, with this new system, the website now resides on a decentralized cloud, allowing users to be confident that their site will always be accessible, regardless of whether or not our platform is running.

The simplicity with which IPFS can be integrated with other decentralized technologies is one of its many great features. To make it even simpler for others to access a user’s website, users can, for instance, link their Eth domains to their IPFS hash. This is due to the fact that Eth domains are a component of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), which enables decentralized domain name resolution.

Additionally, users can turn their IPFS hash into a non-fungible token (NFT). By converting their IPFS hash into an NFT, users can give their website an extra layer of value and possibly even monetize it. NFTs are a type of digital asset that are distinctive and can represent things like art, collectibles, and even websites.

Overall, IPFS hosting is enhanced even further by the capability to link Eth domains to their IPFS hashes and turn them into NFTs. It gives users more power over their website and more options for generating revenue from it. We can’t wait to see how our users use these new advantages and continue to advance decentralized technology.

In conclusion, we and our users have both benefited greatly from the addition of more decentralization to our platform. As a result, users now have full control over the hosting of their websites and are no longer dependent on us to keep them up and running. This is known as “trustless hosting” on IPFS. We look forward to how this will continue to be advantageous to our users and to what decentralized hosting will entail in the future.
